INTRAC's Praxis Interchange

Are the best lessons learned in the field? An evolving, interactive hub, the Praxis Interchange is a resource that allows people to connect and share their knowledge of research and practice. INTRAC is a non-profit organisation working in the international development and relief sector. We support non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and civil society organisations (CSOs) around the world by helping to explore policy issues, and by strengthening management and organisational effectiveness.

 

LINGOs (Learning for International Non-Governmental Organizations) works to improve the performance, lower the cost and increase the effectiveness of Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs.) Together, LINGOs member agencies provide humanitarian relief and development assistance to over 750 million people around the world.

 

Bellanet

Mission: Bellanet promotes and facilitates effective collaboration within the international community, especially through the use of ICTs.

Bellanet aims to support effective development practice by sharing its expertise in information and communication technologies as well as its skills in facilitating organizational learning and the sharing of knowledge. Bellanet delivers its program through three main Program Lines: Online Communities, Knowledge Sharing and Open Development. Together they represent key approaches to building institutional and individual collaboration skills and maximizing the potential of ICTs to support collaborative development work.

In addition to delivering programming through three main Program Lines, three important crosscutting areas are considered and woven into all aspects of Bellanet's work: Gender Equality, Capacity Development, and Monitoring and Evaluation

 

Capacity.org is a web magazine-cum-portal intended for practitioners and policy makers who work in or on capacity development in international cooperation in the South.

 

ALNAP (Active Learning Network for Accountability and Performance in Humanitarian Action) is an international interagency forum. ALNAP, as a unique sectorwide active-learning membership network, is dedicated to improving the quality and accountability of humanitarian action, by sharing lessons; identifying common problems; and where appropriate, building consensus on approaches.

 

Innovation Network is a nonprofit organization working to share planning and evaluation tools and know-how. We provide consulting, training, and online tools for nonprofits and funders. Innovation Network's mission is to improve nonprofit results by building evaluation capacity. Working with nonprofit organizations and funders through evaluation consulting, training, Web-based tools, and outreach, we seek to increase evaluation and planning knowledge and skills for the entire nonprofit and philanthropic field, and to build the ability of individual nonprofits to meet their missions.

 

The Open Knowledge Network (OKN) is a human network, which collects, shares and disseminates local knowledge and is supported by flexible technical solutions. OKN is not something new. University of Kansas Community Toolbox Their "CTB WorkStation" is an integrated and tailored support, documentation, and learning system. This customized Internet-based system will use capabilities of the Community Tool Box (CTB). The CTB has over 6,000 pages of how-to information relevant to 16 core competencies for this work (e.g., community assessment, advocacy, evaluation, planning for sustainability).
